MLB All-Stars

There has been a lot of All-Star chatter in baseball recently due to the upcoming All-Star break. Much is made about who makes the team, whether they are starting or not, and of course who gets screwed. For the record, below are our starters in terms of position players:

NOTE: In parenthesis it is noted who picked each player (Andrew, Greg, or Both).

American League

1B - Chris Davis (Both)
2B - Jason Kipnis (Greg), Robinson Cano (Andrew)
3B - Miguel Cabrera (Both)
SS - J.J. Hardy (Greg), Jhonny Peralta (Andrew)
C - Joe Mauer (Both)
OF - Adam Jones (Greg), Nelson Cruz (Andrew)
OF - Alex Gordon (Greg), Jose Bautista (Andrew)
OF - Mike Trout (Both)
DH - Edwin Encarnacion (Both)

National League

1B - Joey Votto (Greg), Paul Goldschmidt (Andrew)
2B - Matt Carpenter (Greg), Brandon Phillips (Andrew)
3B - David Wright (Both)
SS - Ian Desmond (Greg), Jean Segura (Andrew)
C - Yadier Molina (Greg), Buster Posey (Andrew)
OF - Carlos Gonzalez (Both)
OF - Andrew McCutchen (Greg), Carlos Beltran (Andrew)
OF - Nate Schierholtz (Greg), Michael Cuddyer (Andrew)

If naming a DH for the NL, Andrew likes Freddie Freeman because when healthy this year, he's been an RBI machine (and a Braves player obviously, lol).

  1. PS: Puig is an All-Star in my book too!

  2. Also, this was about 2 weeks ago. Schierholz has fallen off significantly since then, and Travis Wood is a more deserving pick from the Cubs.Puig is an All-Star in my book as well. He's been historically great over his first 50 games, and just because jonathan Papelbon (who isn't worthy of being an All-Star this year) says its ridiculous doesn't mean that it is.

  3. In the AL, I also really like Jacoby Ellsbury. In fact, there are a lot of OF's in the AL I loved.
