Free Agent Lebron James

The title says it all: Free Agent Lebron James. Those words may end up defining this offseason, just as they did in 2010. Bring out all your jokes on "The Decision," because this is "The Decision 2.0."Here's a look at some of the interesting fits.

- Miami Heat

Despite his decision to opt out, Miami is still the favorite to take Lebron's talents back again. He (and potentially Wade and Bosh) chose to opt out so he can take less money and Pat Riley can rebuild the roster. That's at least the popular theory. Will they take enough of a pay cut to bring in another star? Carmelo is the big name, but Kyle Lowry actually is more ideal. Or do they take a pay cut to sign a bunch of solid role players, a point guard and center being two key needs... I think there is better than a 50% chance he returns.

- Cleveland Cavaliers

My preferred choice would be Cleveland. As I blogged about a few weeks ago, acquiring Kevin Love wouldn't be that difficult, and that would surely entice James to return. Trading #1 and a couple of young prospects would be enough to nab Kevin Love and Kevin Martin. Irving, Martin, James, Love, and Varejao would be the best starting lineup in league I think, and that "Big 3" would make them title favorites. That's Lebron's hometown too!

- Los Angeles Clippers

This is a team that apparently intrigues Lebron. I'm sure he'd love to play with Chris Paul and fly high with Blake Griffin. This deal would only take place if the Heat did a sign and trade with them though. It may also cost the team DeAndre Jordan, which is a bummer. Still, if they could create a team with CP3, King James, and Blake (along with Redick, Collison, Barnes, etc), that's a new favorite in the league I'd think.

- Los Angeles Lakers

The other team in LA wants James as well. They have tons of cap space, but like Miami, the roster is barren. Kobe is there, but he's way too overpaid to fill out a roster as good as Miami could. The Lakers are a sexy name for sure, but this is the team that would offer less success than nearly any other option. That's crazy to say right?

- Houston Rockets

Houston is another team that is serious about Lebron or Carmelo. Harden and Howard make a great tandem as is, so Lebron would complete the squad. If they deal Asik and Lin, they could make room for James also. Again, you'd think they'd become favorites for the title, as would a lot of teams if Lebron came to town. I'm not sure James would consider here though as his relationships don't seem as solid with these stars as others.

There are some other teams (obviously) that could enter the fray. I'm sure teams like NYK, Chicago, Dallas, etc. are interested, along with nearly every team in league. But the teams above are the main players at this stage in my opinion. Stay tuned!
