NBA Top 125

Today we continue to preview the 2012-2013 NBA season by revealing another chunk of our 125 top players. Last time we unveiled 101 - 125, today its the next 25 players. Let us know what you think!

NBA Players 76 - 100

76. Gerald Wallace – Brooklyn Nets

I’ll be the first to admit he was overpaid, but he is one of the pieces that makes this Nets team very exciting. He does a lot of things well and is a tough nosed guy.

77. Kevin Martin – Houston Rockets

With all of the youth that the Rockets now have, Martin will become a veteran leader that they need. He has always been able to score (averages over 18 for his career) but how will he adapt to leading?

78. Lou Williams – Atlanta Hawks

A new home for Lou may be the best thing for his career. He will be more of a focal point in Atlanta and will be looked to fill some of the scoring hole left by Joe Johnson.

79. Kenneth Faried – Denver Nuggets

Faried was one of the more pleasant surprises in the NBA last season. He is a gritty player that will out compete most.

80. DeAndre Jordan – LA Clippers

So far in his career, he has been more talent than production. But his skillset is one that can make the Clippers great. If he can develop a more fierce mentality, look out!

81. George Hill – Indiana Pacers

Hill took the Pacers to another gear when inserted into the starting lineup last season. He is solid at every phase of the game.

82. O.J. Mayo – Dallas Mavericks

Mayo was a great addition for the Mavs this summer. His ability is different than Jason Terry, but he will be looked to for scoring just like Terry was.

83. Jeremy Lin – Houston Rockets

We all know about his story and the hype that surrounded him last year. But can he thrive in a new city with the pressure of a new contract?

84. Goran Dragic – Phoenix Suns

The Steve Nash replacement does a lot of things well. His biggest weakness is a roster around him that is void of elite talent, unlike what Nash had for years.

85. Kris Humphries – Brooklyn Nets

I don’t know why the Nets took so long to resign this guy, I am a big fan. He is a threat to post a double-double every night.

86. Derrick Favors – Utah Jazz

A young athlete that started to piece things together last year. If that development continues, he could easily rise 30 to 40 places in next year’s rankings.

87. JaVale McGee – Denver Nuggets

McGee is known for his electric dunks and blocks, but he has improved in other areas also. With Denver as deep as they are, his energy can’t afford to drop or he will lose playing time.

88. Taj Gibson – Chicago Bulls

Just like McGee, Gibson is all about energy. His defense allows him to play in late game situations over the starters.

89. Ersan Ilyasova – Milwaukee Bucks

Not known as much nationwide, Ersan was solid last year averaging about 13 points and 9 rebounds. He’s an underrated player, likely a better player than this position, but he still hasn’t truly broken out.

90. Jeff Teague – Atlanta Hawks

With Devin Harris now in town, Teague will have to fight more for minutes. But I’ve always thought he has the athletic ability and intangibles to be a very good guard in the league.

91. Evan Turner – Philadelphia 76ers

With the backcourt less crowded than a year ago, Turner should make a giant leap forward in production. His jumper is still a work in progress, but his intangibles are still incredibly high.

92. Andre Miller – Denver Nuggets

This veteran seems to never age as he keeps making players around him better. This year we should see the same old things.

93. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist – Charlotte Bobcats

MKG got put into a bad situation in Charlotte. But his winning attitude could actually rub off on teammates and they will likely improve significantly from last year.

94. Jameer Nelson – Orlando Magic

No longer playing with Howard, Nelson may actually play a lead role for this suddenly weak squad. He’ll have to rebuild like his college days at St. Joe’s.

95. Chris Kaman – Dallas Mavericks

Kaman was another summer addition to Dallas, and another player that may not be around for the long hull. He will have a big impact this season however.

96. Caron Butler – LA Clippers

Yet another talented wing to surround Chris Paul. He isn’t the player he once was, but Butler still has the talent and knowledge to produce at a high level.

97. Wilson Chandler – Denver Nuggets

Are you starting to get the picture about Denver? They are loaded with a bunch of good, but not great players. Chandler is another one.

98. Mario Chalmers – Miami Heat

Last year, he did way more for this team than people realize. Heck, he was more valuable to them than his teammates realized. I truly think he may be the most overlooked player in the NBA.

99. Rodney Stuckey – Detroit Pistons

Still hasn’t exploded and expanded his game like Detroit fans have hoped for, but with a slightly different looking roster this year, maybe it’s his time.

100. Kawhi Leonard – San Antonio Spurs

Leonard is the epitome of the Spurs. Coach Pop gets the most out of him and Leonard leaves it all out there. His defense got him initial playing time, but his development offensively gives him a bright future.
