As it turned out, we had a unanimous #1. But that's where are agreement ended (until the last place teams). The biggest rise were the Packers who moved up 12 spots. Apparently we forgot last week how good they were. The Redskins also moved up nicely from 21 to 11. I'll note that last week's 32 ranked team won (Tennessee).
On the flip side, lots of teams fell. But none harder than the Bengals (11 spots) who are now ruining their season. The Rams fell nine spots and continued their roller coaster season. And the Jaguars didn't play but still fell into the last spot. Sorry Jacksonville!

NFL Power Rankings
Week 6
Greg – 439 Points
(51-40)
Andrew – 438 Points
(50-41) – Winner of Week 6
***Evan Atkinson –
318 Points (39-22)
***Didn’t pick in week 1 or 6.
NOTE: Last week’s rank is noted in the first parenthesis.
Current team record noted in the second parenthesis.
1. (3) Atlanta Falcons (6-0) – After an unimpressive performance Sunday, I nearly
knocked them out of my top spot. But they are entering their bye week 6-0 and
are the only unbeaten team in the NFL. – Andrew
2. (4) Chicago Bears (4-1) – Through six weeks the defense has been the best in
football. Offensive line issues continue to hinder the offense, but this is a
team on the verge of taking over the top spot. – Andrew
3.
(10) New York Giants (4-2) – Find me a better team performance this week. They went into San
Francisco and dominated the 49ers from start to finish. The last two weeks they
seem to have found their running game, something they lacked last season. –
Greg
4. (5) Baltimore Ravens (5-1) – Beat the Cowboys at home, but defense now a
concern (gave up 200+ rushing). Ray Lewis (torn triceps) & Lardarius Webb
(torn ACL) are out for the year, Lewis maybe for his career. Haloti Ngata has a
torn MCL but is planning on playing Sunday (how is that possible?). I don't
really expect them to continue winning. They've got to really put some impact
players in those spots, and I just don't think they have them. – Greg
5. (1) Houston Texans (5-1) – Their defense had been so
good, but then Aaron Rodgers happened. They compounded their bad play with
stupid penalties to boot. But it’s only one game and I think they’re still the
best team in the AFC at this point. – Andrew
6. (18) Green Bay Packers (3-3) – What a difference a week makes. Last week, they dropped
uncharacteristically low because of some recent bad play and losses that
included the Colts. Sunday, they won at Houston and look scary good again. –
Andrew
7. (2) San Francisco 49ers (4-2) – Have thrown in 2 duds out of 6 games so far this
season. This experiment with Colin Kaepernick has to stop. Go with one QB; you
can see how well it is working out for the Jets having two. – Greg
8.
(14) Seattle Seahawks (4-2) – Russell Wilson played his best game yet which led to a big win
over the Patriots. All of a sudden they are tied for the lead in the division
and are arguably playing the best of any of them. – Andrew
9.
(15) Denver Broncos (3-3) – If they played a full game against anyone, they might be 6-0.
They seem to only play 2 quarters, and that has to change. – Greg
10. (6) New England Patriots (3-3) – Fell victim to the magic that is CenturyLink Field. The
running game that has dominated through the first five weeks vanished yesterday
also. The defense is also holding them back slightly. – Andrew
11.
(21) Washington Redskins (3-3) – Their defense is suspect, and their receivers don't get the ball
enough, but they've got STYLE. – Greg
12. (8) Pittsburgh Steelers (2-3) – They haven’t figured out
how to win road games this season. Also, they aren’t the same when Troy isn’t
back there at safety. They are now 7-9 without him, which they were on
Thursday. – Andrew
13. (7) Minnesota Vikings (4-2) – Made the mistakes this week that up until this
point they had not made. Got sloppy, and got punk'd by RGIII and his high
stepping socks. They are a decent team though. – Greg
14.
(11) Philadelphia Eagles (3-3) – After starting 3-1, they have lost two close games and blew a
10-point lead with 3.5 minutes left against the Lions. Andy Reid, you gotta get
your stuff together man! – Greg
15.
(20) Miami Dolphins (3-3) – Don’t look now but Miami is hot. The defense is playing at a
high level. Tannehill is also playing solid. Reggie Bush has cooled down, but
they are getting it done. – Andrew
16.
(9) Arizona Cardinals (4-2) – This may be premature, but I think it’s
panic time in Arizona. They just haven’t looked the same as they did those
first few weeks. I guess the injuries and lack of QB is finally catching up
with them. – Andrew
17.
(22) Buffalo Bills (3-3) – After two of the worst games in franchise history,
they still find themselves tied for first with everyone else in their division
at 3-3. – Greg
18. (23) Detroit Lions (2-3)
– Has their ever
been a coach who is more of a criminal than Jim Schwartz (I'm excusing all the
Saints Coaches because its obvious they're criminals; oh, and the former Penn
State Staff as well)? His players mock other players openly, they are undisciplined
(16 penalties), none of his players who were in trouble with the law this
offseason were suspended… and it’s all a reflection of this dirtbag. Be
competetive, but don't be a total piece of excrement. – Greg
19. (16) Dallas Cowboys (2-3) – Dez Bryant is finally playing well but they are still
losing close games. Speaking of losing, let’s hope they didn’t lose DeMarco
Murray for too long. – Andrew
20.
(17) San Diego Chargers (3-3) – 24 must be a bad number for them. Last week, they blew a 24-14
fourth quarter lead against New Orleans. They followed it up with a blown 24-0
halftime lead against the Broncos. If I were them, I'd avoid anything with the
number 24, which just happens to be Ryan Matthews' number. – Greg
21. (26) New York Jets (3-3) – Shonn Greene ran wild for
them and may have kept Sanchez afloat for a few more weeks. And despite all the
trouble they have had this year, they (like everyone in the AFC East) are tied
for the division lead. – Andrew
22.
(13) St. Louis Rams (3-3) – I don’t ever know how to rank these guys. One week I’m praising
them, the next I think they are trash. – Andrew
23.
(12) Cincinnati Bengals (3-3) – Feel like the same thing happened last week… AJ Green was
unstoppable but that’s all they got. The defense has been the most
disappointing, but the running game has been bad too. – Andrew
24. (25) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3) – Josh Freeman had a
good week this week. Does that mean he's due for a bad one next week? – Greg
25. (19) Indianapolis Colts (2-3) – As
great of a win as last week was, this was equally as bad a loss and letdown.
They got steamrolled by the Jets and Andrew Luck looked bad for the first time
all year. – Andrew
26. (24) New Orleans Saints (1-4) – The best part of this
bye week for them is that I didn't have to hear anyone from their team speak. –
Greg
27. (32) Tennessee Titans (2-4) – Chris Johnson had a
good game this week (see Josh Freeman above). They're not really as bad
defensively as they've shown, but Hasselbeck's arm might fall off if he has to
start again. – Greg
28.
(30) Cleveland Browns (1-5) – Brandon Weeden is showing week-to-week improvement. That's
exactly what you want out of your rookie QB. – Greg
29. (27) Oakland Raiders (1-4) – What’s they point of
bringing back DHB from injury when you aren’t using him (0 catches Sunday)? The
defense looked better than earlier in the year though. – Andrew
30. (28) Carolina Panthers (1-4) – The bye week came just in time for them to be able
to start planning their offseason activities. – Greg
31. (29) Kansas City Chiefs (1-5) – Hey Charlie Weis, you
still think Brady Quinn is a worthy NFL QB? What's that? You couldn't hear me
over the sound of your own chewing? Oh ok, that makes sense. Why don't you go
harass another college journalist? Wait, what? Oh sorry, couldn't hear you over
the sound of your chewing. – Greg
32. (31) Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) – Does the second half of
their season look any brighter than the start? Nope! – Andrew
