BMW Championship - Pick 5 Challenge

We took the week off from the Pick 5 Challenge a week ago at the Deutsche Bank Championship, due to the golf trip that Greg and I both attended. We're back this week and excited for the BMW Championship. This week is particularly exciting because it's held in Indiana, where we both reside. Crooked Stick is in Indianapolis, and was the site where John Daly once emerged as a PGA Champion. It should be a great venue for this playoff event.

This week's field includes the top 70 in the FedEx Cup Standings. Many made it in by the skin of their teeth, while others had secured their spots months ago. Making it into the top 30 will be tough though, but everyone wants to play in the Tour Championship in a couple weeks.

Rory McIlroy continued his dominant play with an impressive performance last week. Tiger though is lurking and finally put together a good weekend. These guys are the favorites once again.

With that in mind, the categories we choose from are based on FedEx Cup Standings. You must pick a player ranked in the top 5, 6-15, 16-30, 31-50, and 51-70. Greg and my picks are below. Play along like normal in the comment section. Enjoy!

Greg's Picks

FedEx Cup Ranked Top 5: Nick Watney (2)
FedEx Cup Ranked 6 - 15: Zach Johnson (8)
FedEx Cup Ranked 16 - 30: Webb Simpson (19)
FedEx Cup Ranked 31 - 50: Ian Poulter (48)
FedEx Cup Ranked 51 - 70: Brian Harmon (51)

Andrew's Picks

FedEx Cup Ranked Top 5: Tiger Woods (3)
FedEx Cup Ranked 6 - 15: Sergio Garcia (15)
FedEx Cup Ranked 16 - 30: Rickie Fowler (24)
FedEx Cup Ranked 31 - 50: Jeff Overton (40)
FedEx Cup Ranked 51 - 70: J.B. Holmes (52)

    Jeff Overton – 29,253
    J.B. Holmes – 43,200

    Total – 528,453

    Greg's Picks

    Nick Watney – 22,880
    Zach Johnson – 162,000
    Webb Simpson – 19,253
    Ian Poulter – 162,000
    Brian Harmon – 30,400

So as you can see, Andrew wins on the back of Tiger Woods. Don't know why Greg and I are dumb and rarely pick Rory, but it worked out for me!

  2. It was a good week of picks for us though. Most of our guys were in contention going into the weekend.
