After three playoff events, the field has been narrowed to the top thirty players in the FedEx Cup standings. Everyone who plays has a chance to win the FedEx Cup playoffs, and the 10 million dollar prize, by winning. It's easier for some than others though.
The top 5 players can win the cup by winning the Tour Championship this weekend. Simple as that. But after that, players must win and see a number of different things happen. The lower you are ranked, the more things that must go right. But last season, Bill Haas won the event and cup from the 28 spot. All of the top 5 stunk it up and he came through as the champ. So anything can truly happen.
The head storyline for me, and everyone, is Tiger vs. Rory. They will be paired together once again for the first and second rounds. Yesterday, past golfing great Greg Norman said that Tiger is intimidated by Rory, a statement I know Tiger will hear again and again leading up to his Thursday tee off. Rory on the other hand hasn't said much recently, but he has won a lot instead. He has won 3 of 4 events now, with those wins being the last major and the last two playoff events. Impressive. My guess is that one of these two guys, who are ranked 1 and 2, walk away with the event and playoff win.
For our Pick 5 Challenge this week, we will base it on the Tour Championship prize money, not the FedEx Cup Playoff prize money. So this week by itself is all we're picking on. Categories and our picks are below, join in the game like normal in the comment section. Enjoy!

Between the two sets of picks, nobody picked the winner, second place finisher, or either of the guys who tied for third. Many of our guys competed throughout the event... none could hold it together though. But I had the better set of picks by a slim margin.
Now it's on to the Ryder Cup, where I hope our American studs continue to play well!
