NFL Picks - Week 3

Week 2 was an interesting week for picks. We saw lowly teams like Indianapolis and Miami win their first games of the year. We saw shocking upsets by Seattle and Arizona. We saw bounce-back performances by Buffalo and Green Bay. And we saw exciting finishes in wins by Philadelphia and New York (Giants), among others that were already mentioned. What does Week 3 have in store?

If the schedule of games is any indication, week 3 will be as hard to predict as week 2. Many of the good teams are on the road which makes picking them much tougher. Plus, we have marquee matchups like New England vs. Baltimore, Denver vs. Houston, Philadelphia vs. Arizona, and Atlanta vs. San Diego. That's just naming a few.

If you didn't see the updated standings at the top of our power rankings, Andrew won week 2, followed by newcomer Evan Atkinson, who won a tiebreaker over Greg by having a better picking record that week. Andrew continues to lead overall for the season.

If you haven't played, go ahead and join us for a weekly competition for fun. Not only do you pick the games, but you assign points to each pick based on your confidence level. The more confident you are in it, the more points you award that game. Be careful though, because last week I lost my 16 point game (New England over Arizona). The winner is based on points won, with the tiebreaker being picking record that week. Below are the picks for the Sports Guys, Andrew and Greg. Play along in the comment section.

NOTE: If you pick after the Thursday Night Game, we will adjust your picks and make that game worth 1 point, plus make your pick be whoever was favored by the betting line. For example, if you submit picks Friday, your pick for 1 point will automatically be Carolina over NYG (because Carolina is favored by 3). If you get your picks in before the Thursday Night game, then ignore this note. Thanks!

Andrew – 171 Points (17-15)         Greg – 162 Points (17-15)
Evan Atkinson – 61 Points (8-8)

  2. I love how bold you are Shoes with Atlanta and Houston beating good teams on the road for 15 and 14 points. I guess it payed off last time when you put 16 on Atlanta over Denver so could it work again?

  5. It's still 4th quarter in the Ravens/Pats game and MNF has to be played, but Shoes owned week 3. I sucked... Greg was even worse. So Shoes/Evan/Coach has it won. Nice job!
