NFL Power Rankings

What a week in pro football. Multiple overtime games, near upsets, and great showdowns. But when the dust settled, the teams who were supposed to win did. That means there were small changes only in the power rankings.

The biggest mover up the board was the 49ers (5 spots) after they dismantled the Bears on MNF. In fact, they were 1st on Greg's ballot (7th on Andrew's). On the flip side, the Eagles moved down the board the most (5 spots) after their lack of effort against Washington. Here are the full rankings:

NFL Power Rankings
Through Week 11

Andrew – 876 Points (103-56-1) – Winner of Week 11
Greg – 823 Points (96-63-1)

NOTE: Last week’s rank is noted in the first parenthesis. Current team record noted in the second parenthesis.

1. (1) Houston Texans (9-1) – Schaub bailed out the Texans on Sunday (527 yards, 5 TD’s) as they barely escaped lowly Jacksonville at home. Not a dominant performance but none of the top teams had dominant wins. – Andrew

2. (2) Atlanta Falcons (9-1) – Just like Houston, could have easily lost on Sunday. Matt Ryan threw five interceptions yet they still won. Go figure. – Andrew

3. (8) San Francisco 49ers (7-2-1) – As I've said all season, when they play their best, they are far and away the best team in football. But how bad is Jim Harbaugh at handling post-game comments? There should not be a QB controversy in SF. Alex Smith is the starter, pure and simple. Yes, Colin Kaepernick played a great game, but it is ONE game, not an entire season in which you lead your team to the NFC Championship game. C'mon man! – Greg

4. (7) New England Patriots (7-3) – Defense picked up it Sunday forcing turnovers and scoring touchdowns. Talib also made a difference in his debut. And if that wasn’t enough, the special teams also produced points. On the flip side, they lost Gronk for possibly the rest of the regular season. – Andrew

5. (3) Green Bay Packers (7-3) – The Packers followed a trend on Sunday where a top team deserved to lose yet they scraped it out at the end. Where would this team be though without Randall Cobb? – Andrew

6. (6) Baltimore Ravens (8-2) – Another ugly win, but their defense is playing pretty well even after losing Lewis and Webb. – Greg

7. (5) Denver Broncos (7-3) – Beat another divisional team and have all but secured their title in the AFC West. – Andrew

8. (4) Chicago Bears (7-3) – Probably shouldn’t be in the top ten. They absolutely suck. – Greg

9. (13) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-4) – Their OT win on Sunday wasn’t as pretty as their previous wins, but they got it done and kept their winning streak going. They are looking pretty good for a wildcard spot at the moment. – Andrew

10. (11) Seattle Seahawks (6-4) – Bye week got them rested for a crucial stretch run. – Andrew

11. (12) New York Giants (6-4) – After their bye, I’m looking for their offense to get back to a high level of play. – Andrew

12. (15) New Orleans Saints (5-5) – Another win for the red hot Saints. I wonder how scared defenses are when they see Brees behind center? – Andrew

13. (9) Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4) – The Steelers miss Big Ben. Their loss last night hurt their chances at a division title. Wildcard is still up for grabs though, but without Ben it will be much harder to hold onto. - Andrew

14. (10) Indianapolis Colts (6-4) – Ugly play for Luck cost them. But I never really expected them to win that game. They need to take care of business at home the rest of the way to stay in the playoff race. – Andrew

15. (14) Minnesota Vikings (6-4) – Hopefully the bye week got Percy Harvin healthy cause he is a huge reason they are 6-4. – Andrew

16. (16) Dallas Cowboys (5-5) – Dallas also won in OT in an ugly affair. Now all of sudden though they find themselves in a serious hunt for a playoff spot and even a division title. – Andrew

17. (18) Cincinnati Bengals (5-5) – The Bengals suddenly look like one of the best teams in the AFC. Although they need to beat a quality team or two before I fully by in. – Andrew

18. (17) Detroit Lions (4-6) – If you watched their game against Green Bay, you could see that the Lions arguably outplayed them and should have won. But they continue to make key mistakes that allow teams to beat them. – Andrew

19. (21) Washington Redskins (4-6) – RGIII went crazy again on Sunday. But the win is the most important part about the game. As we saw with Cam last year, it isn’t about putting up big numbers but doing it when it matters. That remains to be seen for this exciting rookie. – Andrew

20. (19) Tennessee Titans (4-6) – Now that CJ2K is rolling, the Titans are a threat to make a charge after their bye week. – Andrew

21. (22) San Diego Chargers (4-6) – Came back to make it interesting vs. the Broncos but not close enough. After their fast start, the Chargers have a massive uphill battle. – Andrew

22. (26) Buffalo Bills (4-6) – Stevie said he thinks the offense can do better. What he meant by that is that he wants the ball more! – Andrew

23. (20) Miami Dolphins (4-6) – A few weeks ago this looked like a playoff team. Now they look to have no spunk. – Andrew

24. (28) New York Jets (4-6) – So Sanchez silenced the media and fans for a week by helping the Jets win. I am a Tebow fan and would rather Sanchez play the whole year. The Jets don’t deserve Tebow… - Andrew

25. (24) St. Louis Rams (3-6-1) – I’ve never been sold on their offense but their defense was disappointing on Sunday. – Andrew

26. (25) Arizona Cardinals (4-6) – They caused turnovers on Sunday like they needed to but the offense is still horrendous. Now losers of six straight and it doesn’t look to get any better soon. – Andrew

27. (27) Oakland Raiders (3-7) – This team needs a healthy McFadden in the worst way. – Andrew

28. (23) Philadelphia Eagles (3-7) – The Eagles played uninspired and like they gave up. Reid is surely gone now, and it’s only a matter of time till it happens. – Andrew

29. (29) Carolina Panthers (2-8) – What can you say, the snatched defeat from the jaws of a victory. – Andrew

30. (30) Cleveland Browns (2-8) – The Browns were in great position to win but couldn’t hang on. Still, you can see the young talent they have which makes their future bright. – Andrew

31. (32) Jacksonville Jaguars (1-9) – Nearly pulled off the biggest shock of the year by winning in Houston. But they made some questionable plays and calls that ultimately cost them though. One thing I took away though is that the Gabbert project should be over. – Andrew

32. (31) Kansas City Chiefs (1-9) – Um… what can you say?
